Sankhyiki, the Statistics Society of P.G.D.A.V. (M) College, University of Delhi, is dedicated to promoting the use and advancement of statistics and probability concepts. Our mission is to provide a platform for young individuals to engage in discussions, understand, and develop strategies and solutions for mathematical and managerial challenges. Over time, Sankhyiki has organized numerous talks by renowned statisticians, fostering knowledge exchange and learning opportunities. Additionally, we annually host Skewsion, the Departmental Fest of the Statistics Department, featuring vibrant inter-college and intra-college competitions. Preceding Skewsion, we organize events like Statistical Euphoria, aimed at celebrating statistics through engaging competitions, and Alumni Meets, fostering connections between current students and alumni, enriching the college experience.
Statistical Euphoria, organized by the PGDAV College Statistics Society - SANKHYIKI, on 2 March, 2024, aimed to celebrate and promote statistics through engaging competitions. The event featured Brainstats Blitz, a quiz testing statistical understanding, and Dataminds, a round focusing on advanced statistical challenges and presentations. Participants showcased their enthusiasm and skills, reflecting a widespread interest in statistics.
Sankhiyiki, the Statistics Society of PGDAV College, organized an Alumni Meet on March 16, 2024, at the new Seminar Hall. The event aimed to reconnect current students with alumni, featuring a dignified Lamp Lighting Ceremony, dynamic Q&A sessions, performances, and fun games. Attendees received saplings and
commemorative badges as gestures of appreciation. Dr. Surendra Kumar graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Skewsion’24 was held on 23rd April, 2024. The day commenced with the inaugural ceremony wherein our guest speaker, Dr. Girish Chandra, from the Department of Statistics(UoD), gave the students insight on the topic “Applied statistical methods useful for forestry experiments”. Following this session were a series of engaging events. The Young Researchers’ Forum provided a platform for participants to share and discuss their research findings, fostering intellectual exchange. Otaku’s Rumble 2.0 delighted participants with its captivating activities and discussions. Meanwhile, the Battle of Kings challenged participants' strategic thinking and decision-making skills in a thrilling showdown. Throughout the day, attendees were immersed in a dynamic environment filled with learning, excitement, and camaraderie.
