About

ANANT is a vibrant student driven society founded by the mathematics enthusiasts of mathematics department of PGDAV College (M). The primary aim of the society is to encourage collaborative learning and foster a sense of inclusivity. It serves as a platform for students to engage in mathematical discussions beyond the classroom and find solutions to problems in a healthy and creative environment.

The society hosts math- themed cultural events and competitions throughout the year to stimulate interest and enthusiasm among students. Participants learn to approach complex issues systematically and develop problem solving skills.

ANANT remains dedicated to its mission to inspire students to explore the complex yet beautiful world of mathematics.

Major events organised

Session 2023-2024

Events Organised-

  • Celebrated “National Mathematics Week” from 18.12.2023 to 24.12.2023 to commemorate the 136th birth anniversary of world renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan Aiyangar.
  • Conducted a two day “Guest Lecture series” on “Applied Mathematics: Theory and Applications” on 15th and 16th March, 2024 with the aim to provide comprehensive overview of applied mathematics, highlighting its significance in contemporary research and its wide-ranging applications in diverse fields.
  • CONFLUENCE’24-An Alumni Meet was organised on 15th April, 2024, providing a platform for former students to reconnect and reminisce about their college days. Alumni shared their experience with current students while reflecting on how their college experience shaped their life and career.
  • SPECTRUM’24-Annual Fest was celebrated on 15th April, 2024 with great zeal. Various mind joggling competitions were organised to test the mathematical learning and concepts of students. King’s Gambit-the chess competition gained highest popularity amongst students.

Lastly, we bid farewell to our final-year students who were to embark on new journeys in  their lives. It was a bittersweet moment as we say goodbye to these bright minds who have  contributed so much to our college community, but we are also excited to see what the  future holds for them.
