Satark, The Consumer Club of PGDAV, solely devotes itself to empowering students by making them aware of their rights and responsibilities as consumers and seeks to protect them from being exploited. At Satark, students are made to understand the value of sustainable consumption and sustainable production.
Satark came into existence in 2011 through an initiative of Consumers Forum, a registered non-profit organization in India and member of Consumers International, London.
Satark spares no effort in spreading awareness amongst the consumers regarding all the possible measures through its Knowledge Sharing Sessions, various Inter-college competitions, panel discussions and interning with different organizations in the field of Consumer Awareness. We at Satark, spread awareness about responsible disposal of E-waste and for that we conduct E-waste drive twice in a year in the college where we dispose collected E-waste through E-Parisaraa Pvt. Ltd. – an authorized electronic waste recycler.
Satark aims to make consumers aware via Satark Alert, Satark Stories, Satark Encounters and Satark Blog to update consumers on various consumer awareness related matters through its various social media handles. Students also perform their social responsibilities and visit nearby schools, NGOs’ and Anganwadis to spread awareness and thus be the harbingers of change.
Keeping this as its motto, Satark- The Consumer Club of P.G.D.A.V. College works ceaselessly and will continue to make people aware about their rights and responsibilities.

Events for the Year 2022-23
KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSION
We organised a KSS (Knowledge Sharing Session) on 30th September 2022, where our President,Shivani Arora and Vice President, Ritvik Bhayana talked on Cybercrime and Grievance Handling, with some recent examples and how we can redress them.
The overall session helped all to more aware and not to circulate fake news. 70+ Members joined us. Faculty members, Executives and student team contributed to make this session more Knowledgeable.
E WASTE DRIVE 2022-23
Satark the Consumer Club of PGDAV conducts E-Waste Drive once in six Months. The students are told about the e waste and importance of its proper management. The e- waste collected is transferred to E- Parisaraa for its proper disposal.
Satark started it’s E-waste drive on 12th October 2022. In a period of 1 week we successfully collected around 20 kg of E waste from our college.
SEMINAR ON INSURANCE AWARENESS AND REDRESSAL

SATARK- The consumer awareness club of PGDAV College organized an offline seminar on the topic of ‘Insurance Awareness and Redressal’. Our esteemed speaker, Mr. Pawan Kumar Bhalla, an icon in the insurance sector, educated students by providing useful insights. The interactive session with 110+ participants and faculty members was very successful and many doubts were cleared.
POSTER MAKING COMPETITION
To Aware the Consumers about the reality and harmful side of Cosmetic products, we propose to conduct a Poster Making Competition “Say No To Cosmetics” in the month of November 2022 in Collaboration with Consumer India in the online Mode.
We plan to do many more KSS and events such as Meme making, Poetry and Nukkad Natak Competition in the upcoming Semester.
