About

Lakshya: The Civil Services Society of PGDAV College (M) has been instrumental in catering to the demands of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) aspirants. Formed with a vision to create an atmosphere for Civil Services Examination (CSE) aspirants to learn and grow with like -minded and determined people, Lakshya leaves no stone unturned in making the members get closer to their dream of cracking the prestigious CSE. The society strives to arrange weekly group discussions, quizzes, and topper talks frequently. It offers a space to discuss and deliberate upon several topics of great relevance from the UPSC CSE point of view, thus paving the way for our future bureaucrats to understand all the essential topics comprehensively. Lakshya organizes panel discussions among the students of the society under the guidance of the faculty advisor. Pratham, the monthly test practices are organized every end of the month, as per the pattern of UPSC CSE.

Major events organised

Events organized by the Society:

 

1.Daily Vocabulary and Quizzes are organized everyday over social media platforms like    Instagram.

Daily exposure to new words enhances vocabulary and overall language proficiency. Quizzes challenge the brain, promoting mental agility and critical thinking skills. Strong language skills are often essential for academic achievement and career advancement.

 

2. Weekly presentation sessions among students over various current topics. Presentation skills are valuable in many professional and academic settings and practicing them in a supportive environment prepares students for future endeavors. Exploring diverse current topics exposes students to a wide range of subjects, fostering intellectual curiosity.

 

3. Panel discussions among students under the guidance of faculty advisors.

Panel discussions bring together students with different backgrounds, experiences and viewpoints, enriching the conversation and promoting understanding of various perspectives on a topic.

 

4. ’Pratham’, the monthly test practice has been organized.

Regular testing helps reinforce learning and enhances long term retention of information by actively engaging with the material. Monthly tests highlight areas where students may need additional review or support, allowing for targeted remediation.

 

5. Lekhan, the essay writing practice has been conducted.

Essay writing allows students to express their thoughts, ideas and opinions, creativity, fostering self - expression and individual voice.
