Counsellor

At P.G.D.A.V. College, we understand the importance of mental well-being in the holistic development of our students. That's why we are proud to offer the services of two dedicated counsellors who are committed to supporting the emotional and psychological needs of our students.

Our team of experienced counsellors provides confidential counselling sessions to students facing various challenges, including academic stress, personal issues, career concerns, and emotional difficulties. Through empathetic listening, guidance, and evidence-based interventions, they help students navigate through their struggles, build resilience, and develop coping strategies to overcome obstacles.

With specific timings tailored to accommodate students' schedules, our psychologists/counselors are available for individual counseling sessions, group therapy, workshops, and seminars. Whether students need short-term support or ongoing assistance, our professionals are here to offer compassionate care and guidance every step of the way.

Mr Nitin Pal, a trained clinical psychologist, is available thrice a week for the students. To ensure privacy and comfort, we have designated a dedicated room within the college premises where students can feel safe and supported during their counselling sessions. This confidential space allows students to openly express themselves without fear of judgment, fostering an environment of trust, respect, and confidentiality. At P.G.D.A.V. College, we prioritize our students' mental health and well-being, and our team of counsellors is here to provide the support and resources they need to thrive personally, academically, and emotionally.

Mentor-Mentee Sessions

Mentor-Mentee sessions at P.G.D.A.V. College serve as a foundation of our student support system, inculcating meaningful connections and providing personalized guidance to ensure the holistic development of our students.

These sessions pair each student with a dedicated mentor who serves as a trusted advisor, advocate, and resource throughout their academic journey. Mentors are experienced faculty members or senior students who offer valuable insights, advice and support tailored to the individual needs and goals of their mentees.

Through regular one-on-one meetings, mentor-mentee pairs engage in open and honest discussions about academic progress, career aspirations, personal development, and any challenges or concerns the mentee may face. Mentors provide guidance on course selection, study strategies, extracurricular involvement, internship opportunities, and other aspects of college life, helping mentees navigate their academic and personal endeavors with confidence.

In addition to academic guidance, mentor-mentee sessions also focus on personal growth and skill development, including time management, goal setting, communication skills, leadership development, and self-care practices. Mentors offer encouragement, motivation, and constructive feedback to empower mentees to overcome obstacles, maximize their potential, and achieve their goals.

These sessions are not only instrumental in enhancing academic performance but also in facilitating a sense of belonging and community within the college. Mentees benefit from the mentor's experience, wisdom, and support, while mentors find fulfilment in making a positive impact on the lives of their mentees.

The mentor-mentee sessions play a prominent role in nurturing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive personally, academically, and professionally.
