Dr. Deepika Kandpal did her MA and PhD at Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. The title of her PhD dissertation is “Essays on Economics of Social Status. Her thesis demonstrates that social identity, income distribution of reference groups and crime incidences have a substantial impact on household status signalling behaviour. Her area of interest are Development Economics and Economic theory of crime. She has previously taught at Hansraj College, Hindu College, SGTB Khalsa College and Delhi Technological University.  Currently, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, PGDAV College.
